The Pentwater Story
Several years ago, a few Christian men from
the Plymouth area went fishing on the Pere Marquette River and stayed at the
Kummer home located in Pentwater, Michigan. During that first trip, these men
discussed community building and the use of God given resources (like a
beautiful home in Pentwater). These discussions led to the idea of an
invitational event based ministry. Since that time, golfing and small group
meetings have been added to the event creating a weekend where men can join
together in fellowship, fun and small group discussions.
The planners of these events strive to
provide men a venue to spend quality time in God’s creation, in God’s word, and
in fellowship with other men. Men are invited and encouraged to participate in
all of the planned activities on the weekend; but in the end need only take part
in those activities and discussions with which they feel comfortable. Many have
witnessed the impact these events have on men who participate. What you
personally take away from these events will be determined in large part by God’s
plan for your life. We earnestly pray that God’s purpose for your attendance
will be fulfilled.
As a result of the invitational nature of the events, a diverse
and ecumenical group of men enjoy the beauty of God’s natural world as well as
His Word every spring and fall. All men are welcome at these events.
