Welcome to Plymouth First!
First United Methodist Church of Plymouth is located
between Beck and Sheldon at 45201 North Territorial, on
the west end of Plymouth, Michigan. We are also situated
at the intersection where:
Spiritual seekers encounter God.
Skeptical folks are embraced
Uncertain persons find direction
Successful individuals discover
significance
Children are treated as the precious
persons they are
Teenagers are taken seriously
Hurting people find healing and hope
Those with a past find a future
You can touch the world in the strong Name
and Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Yes, we have been touched and changed by the love of God
in Jesus Christ. It matters not who we are, where we’ve
been, what we’ve done or what has happened to us, we are
all welcome in this place. God desires to touch and
change each one of us – including you.
With a history of close to 180 years in this area, we
find ourselves standing on tippy-toes to behold the
awesome future awaiting our participation. We come from
a variety of backgrounds, so there’s plenty of
opportunity for you to find a place to fit in. We’re
done with ho-hum religion. We’re aware that God has
something far better than lots of rules and regulations,
and we’re committed to healthy relationships, beginning
first and foremost with Yahweh, and including those we
have with one another.
Pentecost gave birth to a new era in the life of the
Church universal, and we celebrate the Presence of the
Holy Spirit in our lives. The freedom of forgiveness,
genuine love, authentic faith, abundance of joy, the
privilege of service, Eternal significance, God-given
hope, life-transforming power provided by the
resurrected Jesus Christ these and more make us wonder
who’s got time for playing church? We want the real
thing!
That’s the critical piece – do we have the want to? Do
we really want God’s best? We can be eternally grateful
that God’s want to never wavers. He wants to make us
whole; He wants to make us holy. He wants to set us free
to be real men and women.
None of us are there completely. With Paul, we, too,
need to press on to claim the prize that is ours in
Christ Jesus. There is nothing more important. Take
advantage of the opportunities we provide to grow closer
to God and one another. Your life will change – for the
better.
Cheering you on,
John |
