"concerts with a cause"
are sponsored by the music ministry of First United Methodist
Church and takes advantage of the first-class acoustic and aesthetic setting of
our sanctuary. Our mission is to provide high-quality music free of
charge, to make musical experiences available to all. Concert
attendees are given the opportunity to donate to a free-will offering
which helps cover concert expenses, and allows us to make donations to
various charitable organizations in the area. This past fall, we
were able to donate over $2000 to First Step of Plymouth and the
Salvation Army.
Past seasons have included such notable musicians as John
Scott, organist of St. Paul's Cathedral in London, Olivier Latry, organist of
Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, David Higgs, celebrated American organist and
recording artist, the Concordia Choir from Concordia College in Moorhead,
Minnesota, and the Westminster Choir from Westminster Choir College in
Princeton, New Jersey. |
